Orthopaedic Trauma

This course is designed to provide learners with foundation knowledge and skills in orthopaedic trauma, with a focus on history taking, clinical examination and appropriate orthopaedic management of fractures.  It is focused on advanced management of trauma. Basic trauma care is covered in the Introductory course (PIOA001).

This course covers advanced management of orthopaedic trauma. It will allow learners to take a competent clinical history and perform a thorough clinical examination to a standard expected of an orthopaedic surgeon with general training. Train learners in non-operative and operative techniques for the management of orthopaedic trauma including soft tissue injury and fractures and dislocations
